Yes, and before the move if possible. A move often changes who is nearby and able to serve, and it frequently comes with paperwork of its own that interacts with your plan. It is also a natural moment to confirm your patient advocate designation reflects the person you would actually want making the call.
We have a place on one of the lakes. Does that complicate things?
It depends where it is. Property in another county or another state is one of the clearest reasons to use a trust, because it lets the whole thing transfer without separate handling in each place the property sits. If your cottage is out of state, mention it early.
